Elias Wick - Color Blindness
About
Color Blindness is a collection of 3 material functions that can be used to visualize how people with color vision deficiency (CVD) view the world. The nodes are easy to utilize in any project, and will make you aware of art and gameplay design issues that may impact people with CVD.
This Color Blindness pack contains visualization for: Deuteranopia, Protanopia and Tritanopia. It also contains relative post process effects that can be used to visualize CVD in specific areas of your project.
With an estimate of 300 million people in the world with color vision deficiency and no treatment; being mindful of ways to assist those with the deficiency should be of high importance when designing you project. You can watch this showcase video to learn more about color vision deficiency and the material functions.
The color blindness simulation model is based on - A Model for Simulation of Color Vision Deficiency and A Color Contrast Enhancement Technique for Dichromats, by Gustavo M. Machado.
Visualize how people with color blindness view the world and find new ways of assisting those with the deficiency. These assets work in both Unreal Engine 4 and Unreal Engine 5.
